Abstract

This PhD research will investigate the design, development, and evaluation of Virtual Reality (VR) interfaces to improve user performance and well-being across various application domains. This includes increasing efficiency while reducing cognitive overload in monitoring and teleoperation tasks in autonomous vehicles' control stations, increasing efficiency in accented character entry, reducing public speaking anxiety while enhancing public speaking performance through relaxation in an immersive public speaking training, and reducing stress levels using virtual forest bathing. Lastly, this research investigates multi-device deployment of such VR interfaces on head-mounted displays (HMDs) and in CAVE Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) systems
